In short it's a fine choice, although the Audi Q5 is an even better all-rounder while the BMW X3 and Porsche Macan are more fun to drive. If you do buy an XC60, we recommend Core trim with the B5 engine (or the T6 PHEV if it's a company car).

The engine
See full engine specsThe XC60's only diesel option is the B4, which has 194bhp and comes with four-wheel drive. It's won’t throw you back in your seat with its acceleration (0-62mph takes 8.3sec), but it has more than enough mid-rev oomph for easygoing pace.
