Find your perfect AYGO X

Cars available now

The Toyota Aygo X offers thrifty everyday motoring and is packed with safety tech. It's good to drive, too – although there are more practical alternatives. Stick with the standard manual gearbox unless you really don't want to change gear yourself, and we reckon mid-spec Edge trim makes the most sense.

Range-topping Exclusive trim gets you a larger (10.5in) touchscreen, keyless entry, LED headlights, ambient lighting and some faux-leather trim on the seats, but pushes the price into the territory of more polished small cars. We reckon cheaper Edge trim makes more sense.

There's only one engine and it's a 71bhp 1.0-litre petrol. Free from any turbocharging or hybrid electrical assistance, acceleration is best described as 'pedestrian' (0-62mph takes at least 14.9 seconds), although you won't exactly struggle to keep up with other cars in urban and suburban environments.
