The Skoda Elroq is a fantastic family SUV. It’s sharper to drive than the similarly priced Kia EV3 and a bit cheaper to buy than an equivalent Renault Scenic. As it stands, we reckon the 85 Edition makes the most sense, because it combines a long range with lots of standard kit. However, the cheaper 60 version (which we've yet to try) also looks appealing.

We suspect SE L will be the sweet spot in the range, but until we sample it, Edition trim is our go-to. It comes with plenty of useful kit, including adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and wireless phone-charging with cooling.

Until we drive the lesser-powered models in the UK, the 85 is our pick of the line-up. It’s the most powerful version and has the longest official range, offering up to 360 miles from its 77kWh battery.
