The Peugeot e-208 is smart inside and decent to drive but remains an expensive option in the small electric car class. Newer rivals such as the MG4 are more practical and better value. We'd recommend entry-level Active trim because it keeps the price respectable and comes with enough standard equipment.

Allure is the mid-level trim and adds the 10.0in configurable digital driver’s display, front parking sensors and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror to everything you get with entry-level Active.

This is the more powerful motor variant of the fully electric e-208. Acceleration is nippy enough (0-62mph takes 8.2 seconds) and the official range is up to 248 miles – although you won't get that far in real-world driving.
