With this in mind, check the bodywork for scuffs and dents, as well the wheels for any kerb damage. You’ll also want to make sure the folding rear seats are in good condition, in addition to the interior in general.
In Euro NCAP safety tests, the Mazda CX-30 was found to provide outstanding protection to the driver and front-seat passenger, and achieved an excellent 99% score for adult occupant protection. That helped it towards receiving five stars – the organisation's top rating.

Is a used Mazda CX-30 hatchback reliable?
Our data shows the Mazda CX-30 is a generally reliable car. In our 2023 What Car? Reliability Survey, it ranked 14th out of 34 cars in the family SUV category. Its reliability score of 94.7% makes it more reliable than the Cupra Formentor, but less reliable than the BMW X1 and BMW X2.
The largest complaint regarded battery issues, with 9.4% of owners experiencing problems. Other owners (9.2%) in our survey also told us they'd experienced other electrical issues.
Mazda, as a car brand, came 13th out of the 32 manufacturers featured – a fairly good result that places it above Skoda, Seat and VW. Meanwhile, Kia and Volvo both finished higher up the order.
