The 2024 Kia Picanto is a good small car with a smart interior, tidy handling and a very easy to use infotainment system. The Hyundai i10 is a bit more polished in terms of ride and refinement though, and a Dacia Sandero offers more space but costs even less.

This range-topping model has the same styling as GT-Line but the same level of equipment as 3 while adding some upgraded safety tech and a panoramic sunroof. It’s only available with the 1.2 MPi engine.

The only other choice in the Picanto lineup is the 1.2 MPi, which is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It’s quicker than the 1.0 MPi, covering 0-62mph in 13.1sec – but that’s still pretty slow and it’s only available in the most expensive trim level.
