Apart from the usual checks, like making sure the wheels aren't kerbed, it drives without issue and the interior is in good condition, there aren't any specific things to watch out for just yet.
The Civic scored five stars out of five for safety when it was tested in 2022 by Euro NCAP – outperforming the Golf and comprehensively beating the Peugeot 308 and the Vauxhall Astra (both got four stars).

The latest Civic was absent from our 2023 What Car? Reliability Survey, but the previous-generation Civic featured and it finished in 16th place out of 29 cars in the family car class. While this doesn't sound remarkable, it did achieve an overall score of 90.5%, which is very good.
Honda dealers always get excellent reports, and Honda as a brand is consistently at or near the top of most reliability surveys.
