If you’re planning to use your Citroën C5 Aircross for towing a caravan or boat, the BlueHDi 130 will be the one for you. It has the same power as the petrol-powered Puretech 130 but the extra low down shove means it’ll make progress with a full load far more effortlessly.

Majoring on comfort and refinement, the Citroën C5 Aircross is a great-value family SUV, especially if you stick to the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol engine and Plus trim. It has lots of strengths, but if you want a plush interior, agile handling or seven seats, take a look at the closely-related Peugeot 5008 instead.
