The model
Read full BMW X7 reviewThe BMW X7 is everything a big luxury SUV should be. Its huge interior is as practical as it is sumptuous, and the X7 is supremely comfortable and quiet on the road. Its style and sheer scale give it an element of theatre and desirability few rivals can match. We recommend the xDrive40d diesel engine and M Sport trim, plus the optional Ultimate Pack if you can afford it.
The trim
See full equipmentEven entry-level Excellence trim comes with plenty of luxuries, including air suspension, four-zone climate control, and heated front seats.
The engine
See full engine specsIf you aren’t a fan of diesel power, your best bet is the six-cylinder petrol xDrive40i. Its engine is serenely quiet when you want it to be, and nice and snarly when you’re pressing on. However, while it offers fractionally quicker acceleration than the 40d (0-62mph in 5.8sec) you do need to rev the engine a bit harder to access that performance.
