BMW 2 Series Active Tourer 223i MHT Sport 5dr DCT Review
Category: MPV
Section: Version review
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is a spacious MPV with a robust, high-quality interior. What’s more, it’s good to drive and offers impressive engines (including two plug-in hybrid options). If you’re looking for an alternative to the plethora of small SUVs out there but don’t want an MPV that looks like a box, the 2 Series Active Tourer might be the car for you.
The trim
See full equipmentSport is the entry-level trim but still comes very well equipped, with 17in alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, an automatic tailgate, automatic air conditioning, sliding rear seats, automatic windscreen wipers, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, automatic parking, a 10.25in digital driver display and a 10.7in touchscreen infotainment system with over-the-air updates, built-in sat-nav, DAB radio, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring.
The engine
See full engine specsThe more powerful 223i petrol uses the same engine and mild-hybrid system as the entry-level version but generates 215bhp. That engine will get you up to speed even faster, officially sprinting from 0-62mph in around 7.0 seconds. For added confidence, you have the option of adding BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system with this engine.
