The model
Read full Audi Q8 e-tron reviewThe Q8 e-tron is one of the quietest and most comfortable electric cars you can buy. What’s more, it’s beautifully finished and more practical than a lot of rivals. If you value a sporty drive, you’d be better off looking at the BMW iX3 or Jaguar I-Pace, but otherwise the Q8 e-tron is an excellent choice.
The trim
See full equipmentThis is the cheapest trim, but we reckon it’s the pick of the range, because you still get heated, electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, two-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, cruise control and a powered tailgate. There’s also a 10-speaker stereo that includes a subwoofer, while standard safety kit includes automatic emergency braking (AEB) and a lane departure warning system.
The engine
See full engine specsStepping up from the 50 quattro model to the 55 quattro gets you 402bhp (versus 335bhp) and cuts the 0-62mph sprint time from 6.0sec to 5.6sec. However, more importantly you also get a bigger, 106kWh battery, which increases the official range from 283 miles to 333 miles. This battery can take on electricity at speeds of up to 170kW, so a 10-80% charge is still possible in just 31 minutes.
