VW Eos now with Bluemotion
* First petrol Bluemotion * Better economy; lower emissions * Available now, from 20,695...
Volkswagen's Eos convertible has been given the Bluemotion treatment to lower its carbon dioxide emissions and improve fuel economy.
It's the first time a petrol engine has used Bluemotion technology and the 118bhp 1.4-litre TSI engine is available to order from today, priced from 20,695.
Fuel-saving technologies
Emissions have been cut from 152g/km to 144g/km, while fuel economy has been improved by 2.1mpg to an average of 45.6mpg.
Efficiency measures include regenerative braking, engine stop-start and hill-hold systems, plus an indicator light to help make gearshifts more efficient.
As a result the Eos is now in Vehicle Excise Duty band F, saving drivers 25 a year.
Equipment and extras
The VW Eos Bluemotion is available in S and SE trims. Both include stability control, twin front and side airbags, air-con, heated adjustable door mirrors and electric windows.
SE models add larger alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and front sports seats, along with parking sensors and automatic headlights and rain sensors.
S trim models will cost from 20,695, while SE models will cost 21,795.
