Toyota iQ gets cleverer

Toyota is adding its 98bhp, 1.33-litre petrol engine to the iQ city car line-up.
The engine (already on offer in the Yaris, Auris and Urban Cruiser) delivers 58.9mpg and emits 113g/km of carbon dioxide (C02) in the iQ with a six-speed manual gearbox, or 55.4mpg and 120g/km OF CO2 with the optional Multidrive CVT automatic transmission.
It features stop-start technology to cut the engine when at idle, with fuel savings of up to 15% around town.
iQ models with this engine will be badged iQ3 and will come with 16-inch alloy wheels and chrome door mirrors, climate control, automatic headlights and wipers, keyless entry and ignition, front foglights, nine airbags, stability and traction control, folding/heated door mirrors and a nine-speaker audio system.
Prices start from £11,495 (manual) and £12,495 (Multidrive), and options include leather upholstery (£690), satellite-navigation (£930) and four accessories packs: iStyle, iUrban, iSports and iConnect.
The iStyle pack (£295) adds chrome side sills, aluminium scuff plates, chrome-edged foglights and a chrome strip on the tailgate; iUrban (£345) adds rear parking sensors, a reversible rubber/velour boot liner and carpet mats.
The iSports pack (£495) adds a roof spoiler, rear skirt and chrome exhaust tailpipe finisher, while iConnect (£375) gives you Bluetooth and a detachable 'glovebag'.
