Save up to 7000 on great estates

In this week's best deals there are big discounts on three of our favourite estate cars from BMW, Ford and Skoda.

The Ford Focus Estate is the sweetest-handling of all small wagons. The cabin quality isn’t a match for the Volkswagen Golf's, but the Focus is well equipped, refined and as practical as most rivals. The 123bhp 1.0-litre petrol offers entertaining performance, and Titanium spec gives you loads of kit as standard. Go to Carfile.net and you can save £3801, bringing the price down to £17,394.

If you want to spend a similar amount, but do the miles to justify a diesel, then the Skoda Octavia Estate is worth considering. It’s not as refined as the petrol Ford, but it has a cavernous boot and a roomy cabin, and it doesn’t feel like a budget car to live with. Buyers who’ve got a lot more to spend should look at the BMW 5 Series Touring. It’s still our favourite executive estate car, and while the 520d is the best bet, the 525d won’t cost too much more to run.
