Renault wins the space race
Renault has managed to come up with a reasonably spacious seven seater in a relatively compact body.
At a push you can accommodate six-foot adults in rows two and three behind an equally tall driver quite some feat in a car that's just over four-and-a-half meters long. However, only the driver will be comfortable for any length of time.
Whoever gets the middle seat in row two will have to be snake-hipped because that seat is narrower than the outer two, but headroom is good in all three rows.
More usually, kids will inhabit rows two and three and they'll be absolutely cock-a-hoop with the space and the cubby holes they've got to play with.
Getting in to row three is fairly easy, if not quite the one-handed affair offered by a Citron C4 Grand Picasso.
