New York's motor show has given us a close look at some of 2016's best new cars...
New York might not offer the biggest motor show of the year, but it's certainly given us some of the most exciting new metal.
See below for our pick of the best cars on display at the New York motor show.
The hard-top version of Mazda's MX-5 gets its own unique style, and is expected to become a big seller in this country. Dubbed the RF (for Retractable Fastback), this MX-5 is likely to be priced from around £21,000 in the UK. It also gets the option of an automatic gearbox for the first time.
The open-top version of the Mercedes-AMG C63 will reach the UK this October, where it will be priced from around £66,000. Like the C63 Coupé and saloon, it will come in two different guises, with the standard C63 receiving 469bhp from its V8 engine, and the C63 S getting 503bhp.
The new GLC Coupé is Mercedes' rival for the BMW X4, and aims to mix the functionality of an SUV with the stylish design of a coupé. It's based on the C-Class saloon and is the sister car to the GLC SUV. A range of petrol and diesel engines are offered at launch, but a hybrid version is planned for next year.
The new Subaru Impreza is based is a direct rival for the likes of the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf, and will arrive in this country early next year. In New York, Subaru also showcased the four-door saloon version of the Impreza, which isn't coming to the UK.
Unlike the regular Toyota Prius, which recharges its batteries by regenerative braking, this plug-in hybrid variant can be plugged into a wall socket to recharge, and also features solar panels on its roof. It also features unique styling details, and gets a modified interior designed to make the car more engaging for keen drivers.
