Nissan Note gets a new year makeover
* Changes from January 2009 * New exterior styling * First to get new 'Nissan Connect' system...
The Nissan Note is to get a styling makeover and more equipment from January, with the entry-level Visia priced 450 cheaper than the current car.
The supermini's exterior gets a new nose with a reshaped bonnet and bumper, streamlined headlights, and a shiny black finish to the grille. There are also new 15- and 16ins alloys fitted to Acenta and Tekna versions.
Moving to the rear, the tail-lights have been darkened to add a more refined look, and the Tekna gets reversing sensors incorporated in the bumper. A new colour, Safari Gold, has also been introduced to the options list.
The Note's engine line-up keeps the current 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol engines, but the 1.5-litre diesel unit's CO2 emissions have been cut from 136g/km to 119g/km, with an average of 62.8mpg up from 55mpg.
The Note will also be Nissan's first car to come with 'Nissan Connect': a fully integrated audio and satellite-navigation system. The system includes a touchscreen display, CD player and radio, MP3 player connectivity, USB and Bluetooth connection.
It will be fitted as standard on Tekna models and available as a 400 option on the Acenta model.
Entry-level Visia models will start at 9795, which is 450 cheaper than the outgoing model. Acenta spec starts at 11,345 and top-of-the-range Tekna trim comes in at 13,695.
