New Volvo C40 Recharge vs Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron: verdict

With their curvaceous roofs and electric power, these coupé-like SUVs are the height of fashion. Let’s see which one will have us singing its praises the loudest...

New Volvo C40 Recharge vs Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron rear twin

Our verdict

The C40 certainly has the substance to back up its suave styling. It’s indecently quick yet also sumptuous inside and comes packed with equipment. If you’re tempted by Volvo’s subscription service or have simply been seduced by the C40’s looks, rest assured: you’ll be buying a very good electric car.

It doesn’t do quite enough to beat the Q4 Sportback, though. The latter shares a number of desirable attributes with the C40, such as its plush interior and impressive refinement, but it wraps them up in a more rounded package. Its extra interior space and longer range help to ensure that the Q4 Sportback is the better option for those looking for a premium electric coupé SUV.
