Free wall charger for Renault Zoe buyers
* Will save buyers up to 500 * Starting price of 13,650 after the Govt grant * Renault Zoe in showrooms from June 7...
Buyers of the all-electric Renault Zoe will get a free wall-mounted charger installed at their home.
Renault has joined forces with British Gas to provide customers with a unit that will replenish the car's batteries in just three and a half hours.
The Government is subsidising the installation of private chargers by paying up to 75% of the costs. Renault will cover the remainder saving Zoe owners up to 500.
Aside from the electric drivetrain, the Renault Zoe is a conventional supermini with five doors, five seats and a 383-litre boot. The batteries are fitted below the floor to optimise luggage space.
The Zoe costs from 13,650 (including the Government grant for such cars) for the Expression version, which comes with climate control, cruise control, sat-nav, Bluetooth and Renault's R-link infotainment system.
Dynamique Intens and Dynamique Zen trims get alloy wheels, electric rear windows, rear parking sensors, remote battery charging and automatic headlights and wipers.
Dynamique Intens adds a rear-view camera and a dark interior, while Dynamique Zen versions get a lighter-coloured interior and Teflon-coated seats. The price for both models is 14,750 after the Government grant.
Renault claims a real-world driving range of 90 miles in normal driving conditions and up to 60 miles in colder climates.
Orders books are open now and the first models will appear in showrooms from June 7.
