Face-lifted BMW 6 Series and M6 revealed
* Styling tweaks; all engines now EU6-compliant * Four-wheel drive available * On display at Detroit motor show...
BMW has revealed face-lifted versions of the second-generation 6 Series coupe, Cabriolet and GranCoupe, along with similarly tweaked versions of their respective M6 siblings.
They are due to be unveiled at the Detroit motor show in January, with UK sales starting shortly afterwards.
Face-lifted models get a updated front bumper, a newly designed kidney grille, revised headlamps with a standard LED main beam function, reworked rear bumpers and new alloy wheels.
Inside, the face-lifted model gets higher quality materials and a new bi-colour leather trim among a long list of options that include BMW's latest head-up display.
The engine line-up for the 6 Series remains the same as before. However, an improvement in efficiency means all engines are now EU6-compliant.
As before, all 6 Series models come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard as well as stop/start technology. Buyers can also specify BMW’s xDrive four-wheel-drive system.Â
The new M6 coupe, Cabriolet and GranCoupe use the same 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine that develops 552bhp, but instead of the eight-speed 'box, the rear-wheel-drive-only M6 gets a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The face-lifted M6 Coupe manages a claimed 0-62mph time of 4.2sec, averages 28.5mpg and has CO2 emissions of 231g/km.
