* Our exclusive studio pictures and video of the 2014 Audi TT * More interior shots, including new Virtual Cockpit dashboard * Car goes on sale in autumn...
The 2014 Audi TT comes with a brand new dashboard layout, which Audi calls a 'Virtual Cockpit.'
The TT is the first model in Audi's range to get the new design, which consolidates the instrument cluster and main dashboard screen into one large screen behind the steering wheel.
Measuring 12.3 inches, the screen contains all the speedometer, rev counter, satellite-navigation and infotainment information. It can be controlled either through the buttons on the steering wheel (on higher-spec models) or via a dial on the central console.
Audi has said that other models to get the new dashboard style will not necessarily get the same layout of controls. A more family-focused model would allow the passenger to adjust and interact with elements such as the radio.
Another interior touch that can be seen in our gallery above is the digital temperature readout in the middle of the air vents. This will be offered on higher level models.
The interior will be available with a choice of three interior colours, although the S line models will also be able to offer two-tone upholstery and contrast colour stitching. The options list will also contain things such as keyless entry and start, heated front seats and a Bang and Olufsen 12-speaker sound system.
