Engine and trim choices
* New exec on sale next month * Interior from A7 * More kit, small price rise from current car...
The Audi A6 2.0 TDI will be sold with the option of a manual or Audi's Multitronic CVT gearbox. The latter will raise emissions to 132g/km, which will not affect company car tax, but will mean an additional first year VED road tax payment, and an additional 20 of road tax costs a year thereafter.
At launch, buyers will also be able to choose between 3.0-litre diesel and petrol engines. The 3.0-litre diesel will produce 203bhp and 295lb ft of torque. When paired with the Multitronic gearbox in front-wheel-drive form it will hit 62mph in 7.2 sec but average 54.3mpg and emit 137g/km of CO2.
The 3.0 TDI will also be available with four-wheel drive and semi-automatic S tronic transmission.
The supercharged petrol will be available only with the S tronic transmission, and deliver 298bhp and 325lb ft of torque, taking the A6 from 0-62mph in 5.5sec. It will average 34.4mpg and emit 190g/km of CO2.
Other engine options will be offered at a later date, although they've yet to be confirmed. Most intriguingly, this will include a hybrid option, powered by a 210bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine that works in conjunction with a 44bhp electric motor.

>That will allow it to run up to 62mph on electric power alone and have an all-electric range of up to two miles. It can also run in hybrid and combustion engine-only modes, and optimum performance will take it from 0-62mph in 7.3sec. It will average 45.6mpg while emitting 142g/km of CO2.
All A6s will be sold in two specs: SE and S-Line, with the latter offering a harder suspension set-up, sportier looks thanks to more aggressive bumpers, rocker panels and exhausts, and interior changes including the option of sports seats.
As ever with Audi, there's an enormous list of options to choose from. For instance, depending on engine choice, the A6 will be supplied on 16 or 17-inch alloys, but you can go all the way to 20-inch if you wish. Other kit includes Active Lane Assist, which helps keep you in lane; Park Assist, which parallel parks the car; Xenon and LED lights, air suspension and Night Vision Assist.
