Electric Car Awards 2023: Best used electric estate car

With electrified cars now coming in all shapes and sizes – and available to suit every budget – we’ve named the best models in every class. Here we look at the best used electric estate car...

So, you want an MG5, but you’d like to spend even less? Well, there’s now a decent number of used examples to choose from, with early MG 5s (from 2020) available for just £15,000 – around half what you’ll pay for a new one.

This original version has a 154bhp electric motor and a 49kWh (usable) battery that was good for an official range of 214 miles. A mild refresh in 2021 introduced the larger Long Range battery (see main story); you’ll need around £17,000 for a used example of that model.

A facelift last year brought in sharper styling, complete with an updated interior and upgraded infotainment system. One of those cars will set you back around £25,000, which is still a useful saving on a new one.
