Volkswagen T-Roc 1.5 TSI 150 Life

What Car? Car of the Year - Solera CAP HPI

How many times have you been advised to step outside of your comfort zone? Sometimes it’s necessary to do so, to help you achieve your goals in life. But if you own a Volkswagen T-Roc, you’re seriously going to question the wisdom of that advice.

You see, comfort is something the T-Roc does better than any other small SUV, pampering its occupants to such a degree that they’ll always be reluctant to step out. Elevated seats provide easy access and a great view, and finding an ideal driving position is a doddle.

The T-Roc also has a plush ride, soaking up bumps better than the Lexus LBX and other rivals such as the Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq. What’s more, it’s among the quietest and most spacious of small SUVs, while its interior is covered in an appealing mixture of soft- touch materials, albeit not as rich as those in the Lexus LBX .

With no hybrid engine option available, the T-Roc will cost you more in fuel bills than the LBX, although running costs will still be sensible in punchy 1.5 TSI 150 petrol guise. Plus, the T-Roc comes well equipped in entry-level Life trim. You can take comfort from that.
