Buying used: Car of the Year winners from 2015
Looking to buy a great used car? Here are some used examples of What Car?'s Car of the Year Award winners from 2015...
What Car? will be hosting the Car of the Year Awards 2016 in early January. Before then, it's worth taking a look back at 2015's winners to see how they're faring on the used market. You could pick up an award-winning car at a great price.
Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI 90 SE - Car of the Year 2015
The Skoda Fabia was named What Car? Car of the Year 2015. It was one of the few cars on sale with no major weaknesses, and it managed to beat its biggest rivals on price. Now, it’s even more of a bargain. We found this nearly new example with just over 1000 miles on the clock for a very reasonable £9,988 - that's more than £3500 off the list price new.
Hyundai i10 1.2 Premium - Best city car
Hyundai was gunning for the Volkswagen Up with its latest i10, and the hard work paid off. The i10 went away with the award for best city car for the second year in a row. You can now pick up this 2014 model with 6000 miles on the clock for £7999. It’s under warranty for another three years and it costs close to £3000 less than a new model.
BMW 520d SE auto - Best executive car
The 5 Series has always been one of our favourite business-class cars, with awards aplenty to its name. No surprise then that it was named Best Executive car. There are plenty of good nearly new examples on the market, including this one that’s done just 7000 miles and is for sale at £24,495 - that's more than £7000 less than the price new.
Ford Fiesta ST-2 - Best hot hatch
The Fiesta ST is one of those cars that makes you want to simply get in and go for a drive. There aren’t many other cars on sale today that can do that. It’s brilliant to drive and there are lots to choose from on the used market. We found this ’15/64 car with 10,000 miles on the clock on sale for £13,990. It represents a saving of more than £4000.
Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi 110 N-tec 2WD - Best small SUV
The Car of the Year Award 2014 went to the Nissan Qashqai, and in 2015 it was named Best small SUV. It's comfortable, agile, well equipped, cheap to run and now fantastic value. We found this one with 12,600 miles on the clock for just £16,200 - that's nearly £8000 less than its price new.
