Britons aren't haggling for savings

Briton's car buyers are haggling less hard for discounts than they used to despite the economic downturn.

Just 22% of buyers said they would haggle 'very hard' for savings compared with 44% six months ago, according to research by Sainsbury's Finance.

Missing out on 741 million in discounts
A staggering 27% of buyers said they wouldn't haggle at all. That amounts to 436,000 buyers who collectively miss out on 741 million of savings, when based on an average What Car? Target Price discount of 1699.

The What Car? Target Price shows the most you should pay for any new car. Because it's an easily achievable discount, buyers that haggle hard should be able to secure even bigger savings.
