The new Audi A4, Honda Jazz and Honda HR-V have all been awarded five-star safety ratings by Euro NCAP in its latest round of tests.
Audi's new A4, which went on sale in the UK this month, gained a 90% rating for adult protection and an 87% rating for child protection. Pedestrian safety and assistance systems both scored 75%, earning the A4 a five-star rating.
Two of the A4's biggest rivals, the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, already have five-star ratings.
The Honda HR-V, meanwhile, scored 86% for adult protection and 79% for child protection, while its pedestrian and safety assistance systems were rated at 72% and 71% respectively. The Jazz, meanwhile, scored highly in all areas and has become only the second supermini tested in 2015 to receive a five-star rating.
Volkswagen's Caddy MPV was also tested by Euro NCAP and received a four-star rating. In particular, testers praised the Caddy's safety assistance systems, saying it is "unusual" for a car like the Caddy to come with autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
