Alfa's new-model blitz
* Seven models in four years * 159 replacement * Two new crossovers, too...
Alfa Romeo will make seven all-new cars over the next four years, the company has confirmed.
The first of the seven-model blitz is the Giulietta, Alfa's VW Golf rival, which goes on sale next month.
A five-door Mito supermini will follow, then Alfa's replacement for the 159 compact executive the Giulia. This will be offered both as a saloon and an estate.
A replacement for the Spider convertible has been confirmed and Alfa also says it will build two new crossovers, a small model and a larger one to rival the likes of the BMW X5. This model could even be sold in America as a Jeep, following Fiat's alliance with Chrysler last year.
Alfa could also build a rival to the BMW 5 Series saloon, which could be a replacement for the old Alfa Romeo 166, although this has yet to be signed off.
