2017 Skoda Fabia 1.0 TSI 110 review - verdict

We liked the Skoda Fabia's new 1.0-litre engine when tuned for 94bhp, but will we like the more powerful 108bhp version even more?...

2017 Skoda Fabia 1.0 TSI 110 review - verdict

Jumping from the 94bhp to the 108bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine in the Fabia will cost an extra £650. Given that emissions and economy are virtually unchanged, that’s a very reasonable price to pay for a useful amount of extra performance.

Even so, we’d stick with the less powerful version. It may not be quite as quick, but its performance is more than acceptable for a small car. Unless you’re planning to take three or four passengers in your Fabia car most of the time or just really want to go that little bit faster, we’d save our £650.

Similarly, SE trim gets all of the equipment of Redline but does without the sporty touches. Given the saving on the purchase price, it remains the trim we’d recommend.
