2017 Nissan Micra - exclusive reader test team preview

Join What Car? for an exclusive preview of the new Nissan Micra on Wednesday, 14 December, in north-west London.

The latest incarnation of the Micra, so far only been revealed in pictures, will launch in early 2017. Although we give the current model a one-star rating, the new version is new from the ground up, with modern styling, a lower roofline, and a longer body to give more leg room and boot space. It should be sportier to drive, too, with Nissan promising ‘confident’ handling, and there's a new range of turbocharged petrol engines and one diesel to choose from.

The new Micra gets a much more upmarket interior, with trim borrowed from the Qashqai, comfier seats and a new 7.0in infotainment touchscreen, as pictured below.

Pricing starts from around £9000, pitting it against the likes of the Skoda Fabia, Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Swift, which cost from £10,750, £13,545 and £8999 respectively.
