2017 Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 100 review - verdict
The new Ford Fiesta has impressed us so far, and now we’ve driven what will be the most popular engine. Is it the best option in the lineup?...
The new Ford Fiesta follows on from the model’s rich heritage and is an excellent small car, while this 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine is certainly the pick of the lineup.
Not only is it great to drive, offering flexible performance that can easily manage gentle town trips and longer journeys farther afield twinned with agile handling, but it also makes sense on paper, with competitive CO2 emissions and decent official fuel economy.
It’s a shame that it isn’t a little more competitively priced – it’s more expensive than the Ibiza and Fabia, and trims like Titanium and Vignale push its price up a bit too far in our opinion – but if you pick a Zetec or ST-Line model with this engine then you will be buying one of the very best new small cars on sale.
