2013 Renault Scenic will come to UK
* Five-seat Scenic will come to UK... * ... along with Grand Scenic and Scenic XMOD * Available to order now; prices later this week...
The face-lifted 2013 Renault Scenic will be sold on this side of the English Channel - after the French manufacturer reversed plans to drop the car from its UK range.
Renault had planned to bring just the seven-seat Grand Scenic and the new Scenic XMOD crossover to the UK, even though the Scenic was due to be offered in mainland Europe.
The Scenic XMOD comes with upgraded SUV-like styling, plastic cladding around the front and rear bumpers, sill guards and chrome roof rails.
It also gets an upgraded version of Renault's Grip Xtend traction control system, which is designed to cope with driving conditions such as mud, snow or sand.
In the 'Road' setting it acts as a conventional traction control system, 'Expert' adds braking assistance, while 'Loose Ground' helps control braking and engine torque.
The Scenic XMOD also comes with tyres designed to cope with mud and snow.
This extra kit should make the Scenic XMOD sit above the standard Scenic, but Renault has confirmed the two models will both be offered alongside each other.
Pricing should be confirmed this week, with the Scenic expected to remain around the current car's 18,335 starting price.
