2013 Ford Fiesta ST video review
* Performance bargain - priced from 16,995 * 180bhp 1.6-litre turbo; 0-60mph in 7.0secs * Our video verdict on Fords junior hot hatch...
The new Ford Fiesta ST is one of the most eagerly anticipated hot hatches in decades, and we've driven it abroad and in the UK.
Put against its main rivals the Peugeot 208 GTI and Renault Clio 200 Cup the Ford Fiesta ST looks like an absolute steal. It's priced from 16,995, which is around 2000 less than both of them.
The Fiesta ST's turbocharged 1.6-litre engine develops 180bhp and managed 0-60mph in 7.0 seconds in our tests. This means it's not quite as quick as either of the rivals above, but you're never left wanting when overtaking.
The cabin hasn't received a dramatic makeover compared with that of the standard Fiesta ST badging, stainless steel pedals and figure-hugging Recaro sports seats are the main upgrades.
ST1 trim comes with DAB radio and air-conditioning as standard, while ST2 costs another 1000 and adds a higher-spec stereo, LED daytime running lights and keyless start. Satellite-navigation is available on both as a 400 option.
